Privacy Notice
Devol Legal Limited is committed to handling personal data responsibly and lawfully. This notice explains how we collect, use and protect personal information provided through this website.
Who we are
Devol Legal Limited is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website in connection with general enquiries and prospective client contact.
What information we may collect
We may collect your name, contact details, organisation name, job title and anything you include in an enquiry. When you visit the site, our hosting provider also processes basic technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, so that pages can be delivered securely.
AI voice receptionist
The optional AI voice receptionist starts only when you choose to open it and begin a call. Your browser will ask for microphone permission. Audio, the information you provide, and technical call data are processed by the voice-receptionist service and its communications providers so that the call can operate and a short enquiry summary can be sent to Devol Legal for follow-up.
Please do not provide confidential, privileged or highly sensitive information through the voice receptionist. The service is for initial reception enquiries only, does not provide legal advice, and does not itself create a client relationship.
Enquiry form, hosting and analytics
The enquiry form on our contact page is processed by Web3Forms, which passes what you submit to us by email. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or build a profile of individual visitors.
How we use personal information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess whether we can assist with the matter raised, communicate with prospective clients, maintain business records, and protect legal rights and comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases
We process personal data where necessary for legitimate interests in operating and developing our business, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and consent, where this is specifically requested and relied upon.
Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. Information may be shared with professional advisers, service providers or regulators where necessary and lawful.
Where you use the AI voice receptionist, relevant providers include the Fasthosts AI Voice Receptionist platform, Voiceable voice infrastructure, Twilio communications technology and Resend email delivery. These providers process information only to operate the reception service and deliver the resulting enquiry to Devol Legal, subject to their own security and data-processing arrangements.
International transfers
Some of our providers, including Cloudflare, Twilio and Resend, are based in the United States, so personal data may be processed outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law provides, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the International Data Transfer Addendum.
Data retention
We retain personal information only for so long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to respond to enquiries, maintain records and meet legal, regulatory or insurance requirements.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccuracies, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to certain processing, and data portability.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (0303 123 1113). We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first.
